He arrived in Tombadouro, one of the communities of the pilot project, on September 1st, 2006, to participate in the II Annual Meeting of the Gems of the Earth Volunteers. JR is travelling around thr project and collecting his views on what is happening in the ground. Starting with this video, we are going to see a series of videoblogs of JR's experience in the Gems of the Earth project. All videoblogs are filmed and edited on location, using the communities' telecenters.

He is a long time supporter of CTCNET.ORG, one of the largest telecenter networks in the United States. Phil invited the founder of the Gems of the Earth Network, Marco Figueiredo, for a casual video interview at his facility in Takoma Park. This meeting marked the partnership between GOTENET and the Loyola Center of Excellence in Telecenter Integration (LCETI).
